Long Pond STC❤E 2005 Cambridge 13 Year Old
This is part of the National Rums of Jamaica collaboration with European distributors, La Maison & Velier. A 2005 vintage, it was distilled at Long Pond distillery and is a reproduction of the "STC❤E" cask mark used at Cambridge Estate distillery, which closed in 1947.
This is a Continental Flavoured style rum, one of four classifications used in Jamaica, identifying rums with 700/1600 gr/hlpa. The STC❤E mark specifically refers to rums with 550/700 gr/hlpa.
Bottled from a stock of 10 barrels distilled in the double retort pot still, this was fully aged for 18 years in the tropics with an angels' share of 75% leaving enough for 2,717 bottles.
Long Pond
A historic Jamaican rum distillery, founded in the Trelawny parish in 1753. It has long associations to the Captain Morgan brand which was produced there by Seagram in the second half of the 20th century, but is today owned by the National Rums of Jamaica partnership.
National Rums of Jamaica
An organisation established in 1980 as a holding company for the Jamaican government's rum distilleries. Today these are Long Pond and Clarendon, and in 2006 a one-third stake was sold to each of Demerara Distillers Ltd and Maison Ferrand's West Indies Rum Distillery Ltd.
