This 2000 vintage is from the 3rd Release of the Caroni Employees series by Velier. It features Nita "Nitz" Hogan on its label, who worked as a packaging operator at the distillery for 30 years.
An example of HTR style rum, this is a vatting of eight casks filled from the Indian mash column still. There is an error on the back label of the bottle which states that this was partially aged in Guyana, however this was actually fully matured in Trinidad.
A historic rum distillery that was once owned by British sugar merchant, Tate & Lyle, before being nationalised by the Trinidadian government in the 1970s. It eventually closed in 2003 and the last of the distillery's stock and its brand name were acquired by Italian distributor, Velier.
