The original production home of Martinique's famous J. Bally brand. The distillery was built by Jacques Bally after his acquisition of the Lajus estate in 1907 and was one of the first to age its rum in oak. It was shut down in 1987 and production moved to Saint James.
A historic brand of Martinique rum, first distilled and bottled at the Habitation Lajus in Carbet. It was founded by Jacques Bally who designed its iconic pyramide and carré bottles in the 1930s. It is today owned by COFEPP through its La Martinqaise division and distilled at Saint James.
A holding company established in 1986 following the sale of the J. Bally to the Hayot family's Distillerie du Simon SA. The previous owners, Établissements Lajus retained a minority stake in the brand through the new company, which was later sold in its entirety to Rémy Cointreau in 1996.
