A small distillery that is part of the Haitian cottage industry of clairin production. Its spirit was introduced to export markets in 2014 by Luca Gargano and his distribution company, Velier.
Clairin Sajous
A brand of clairin produced at the Chelo distillery in Haiti. The spirit was discovered by Luca Gargano and Daniele Biondi in 2012, and introduced to export markets in 2014 alongside Casimir and Vaval. Most Sajous is sold in its traditional unaged form, however Vieux Sajous was introduced in 2020.
Spirit of Haiti
A Haiti company founded as a co-venture between Italian importer and distributor, Velier, and local rum company, Berling S.A. The latter is the majority shareholder of the operation which manages the acquisition, bottling and occasional ageing of clairin for the export brands of the former.
