Privateer is an American rum distillery located in Ipswich, Massachusetts. It is owned by Privateer International LLC and was established in 2011. The distillery is name after Andrew Cabot, an 18th century rum merchant, distillers and privateer, whose sixth-generation ancestor of the same name is its founder.

The distillery produces double-distilled rum, first in a thousand-gallon Vendome pot still, then in a copper eau-de-vie hybrid still with an adjustable plate configuration. It is then bottled in accordance with the Bottled in Bond Act of 1897 which ensures the spirit blended is from one distillery and produced in a single distilling season.

The first Privateer rums were released in 2012 and the brand today comprises both white and aged rums, as well as occasional batches of seasonal gin. Its entry-level range is made up of its New England White Rum and New England Reserve Rum. It also offer 4-year-old and single cask releases of its Navy Yard and The Queen's Share rums, both of which are produced using traditional distilling techniques. Navy Rum is produced in the style of traditional New England rums of the past, whereas The Queen's Share is made using the technique of redistilling the seconds (the transitional distillate between the hearts and tails), more commonly found in Cognac production.

In 2016 the distillery launched its inaugural releases in the Distiller's Drawer range of limited editions. These are joined by its Letter of Marque bottlings which are exclusive to specific retailers and distributors. Both of these are branded using the distillery's parent company name, Privateer International.
