Nine Leaves
A Japanese distillery that operated between 2013 and 2023. Unusually, the distillery was owned by a large auto-parts manufacturer called Takehiro Co Ltd, and was a passion project of one of its partners, Yoshiharu Takeuchi. The distillery made pot-distilled rums from unique brown sugar base.
Velier
An Italian importer and distributor founded in Genoa in 1947. Under the ownership of Luca Gargano since 1986, it has become one of the most important companies in the world rum. It represents a huge array of brands in Europe as well as marketing a number of its own.
Velier Japoniani
A trio of rums released in 2020 and known as the Japoniani due to featuring labels once sketched by Luca Gargano on a flight from Japan back to Italy.
