This was believed to be the oldest remaining vintage in the stocks of Caroni made available following the closure of the distillery. The casks were sourced by Bristol Spirits and produced less than 1,500 bottles.

An LWR mark, meaning "light" or "local white rum." This is a lesser-seen Caroni style from European independent bottlers.

This 1983 vintage is a vatting of 78 casks. An example of the distillery's heavy type (HTR) rum, this was produced in the brief period between 1980 and 1985 when some sherry was added by Caroni (1975) Ltd to the spirit. This was due to a fear that the decommissioning of the distillery's pot still would reduce the trademark aromatics of its production.
