This is an AN marque rum, traditionally associated with the Albion sugar estate. Its distillery was shut down in 1968 and its marques were then produced at various other distillers. This one was distilled by Demerara Distillers Ltd at Enmore using its wooden Coffey still.
Bottled in January 2008, it is part of the legendary collection of DDL bottlings produced in collaboration with Velier between 2005 and 2014.
A distillery that was located on a sugar estate established by Edward Henry Porter in the early 19th century. Although it was closed down in 1994, its name lives on through its two-column continuous still, which forms one of the "heritage stills" of Guyana and is still in use at Diamond distillery.
A rum company in Guyana, founded in 1983 through the merger of Guyana Distilleries Ltd and Diamond Liquors Ltd. Its flagship brand is the El Dorado label, which produces on a variety of still at Diamond. It also has subsidiary interests across the Caribbean and Europe.
